Home » New Highfield Dinghy + Yamaha Outboard Motor Preview

We are very excited to once again having a dinghy and outboard motor to have with us on our travels. The dinghy is Highfield 290CL model, which has a rigid aluminum hull, complete with forward storage locker which doubles as both a seat and an out of the way spot for the fuel tank.

The motor we got is a Yamaha 9.9 horsepower, four stroke engine. As I’ve mentioned in the past, we had an 8 HP, 2 stroke Yamaha a few years back and we were always impressed with it’s performance. One of the features of this motor that I am looking forward to is a remote shifter, located right on the tiller handle. Will make things a lot more convenient, as our older model had the shifter placed on the side of the cowl. Gonna be much more comfortable on my back!

For more info on the dinghy & motor, check out C02 Inflatables, where we bought our package. You can find them here; https://www.co2inflatables.com/

The davit system is an under-mount setup, allowing us to retrieve the dinghy a little easier than if it were top mounted. I will be sharing a complete installation video of that once we have it. For more info, check out https://www.DinghyDavits.com/. If you talk to the owner, Marc, tell him the Boogaboo Crew sent ya!

I’ll be sharing more once we launch!
