Carolyn and I had noticed that Snow Gum’s wind vane at the top of the mast was getting stuck from time to time. An intermittent failure; the worst kind!
The wind is very light this morning here in Cherbourg. First we did a practice run up to the height of the radar, where I removed and replaced three cable ties. The old ones were positioned such that their sharp ends would chafe the spinnaker halyard and the spinnaker pole topping lift when they’re parked adjacent to the mast. Can’t have that.
The video starts when I’m back up at radar height, at which point I remembered to turn the GoPro on. Watch to see what I discovered at the top.
Regards from Rick and Carolyn.
